Riptide {Ivan&&Holly}

Ever since Holly and Ivan had moved to New York, things had been going at supersonic speed. Between school, homework, and working part time, Holly was rarely home. When she got home, Ivan was doing homework or almost asleep. Sometimes he came to work to surprise her, and that made her day ten times better. Other times, she would ask him if he wanted to have dinner with her during her lunch break. Holly was glad that she had Ivan in her life, and the thought of them growing apart or her losing him to someone else really scared her. She loved him with everything she had; she couldn't deal with half of her heart leaving her. 

Today, Holly had five classes. They started at eight in the morning, and the last one ended at five-thirty in the evening. Then, she would be at work from seven in the evening until midnight. Around two, Holly had a lunch break. She went to check her e-mail account, and she found that her next class had been canceled, which meant she had three hours until she had to go to class. She shot Ivan a text, telling him the good news, asking him if he wanted to meet her for lunch in the student lounge. 

While she waited for Ivan to show up, she put her headphones in, listening to a throw-back song called Doo Wop (That Thing). It was a classic to Holly, and she couldn't help but hum along to it. She leaned back in the oversized chair, and she closed her eyes, tired from her busy schedule.

Something deep inside me, I can't give up,
I think I'm gonna lose my mind!

Sometimes working and going to school wasn't what it was all crack up to be. Sure it was nice to have money of his own and at times school was even fun, but it also meant less time he could spent with Holly. With both of them working and going to school, it was sometime hard to find time together, just the two of them. And one thing Ivan loved was just spending time with Holly.

So when she text him, asking if he wanted to have lunch with her in the lounge, Ivan quickly texted back; Sure! Be there in a min. It didn't take long for Ivan to get to the lounge, and when he did, he saw Holly sitting in a chair with her headphones on. Ivan just watched her for a good ten seconds before walking over and lifting one of the ear buds of her ear. "Can I listening too," he whispered into her ear.

Holly's eyes snapped open when her earbud was taken from her ear. A big smile came across her face when she heard Ivan's voice, though, and she turned her face towards his so that their noses were touching. She rubbed her nose against his, then she placed her lips against his nose. 

"Hi, babe."

She said, yanking the other headphone out of her ear, pausing her music, and shoving her phone in her backpack. 

"Are you hungry? I'm starving."

She told him, standing up from the chair. She put her backpack on her back, standing in front of him, the chair in between the two of them. She looked at him with a soft smile on her face. He was so gorgeous; she couldn't believe that he had chosen her to be with. There had been so many girls at their high school, and there were even more girls in the town they had grown up in. Holly had always seen herself as the odd one out. She had a big personality, and it was a strange one at that. Ivan was such a sweet, sensitive guy. He was the perfect guy, in looks and personality, and he had chosen Holly out of everyone in the world. 

She smiled at him again, her thumbs hooked on the straps of her backpack as she looked at him. Her cheeks went a little red as she thought about how lucky she was to have him. She never wanted to lose him, yet she had the feeling that she might and it killed her.
