Aloy couldn’t believe she had live in New York all this time and had never heard of Kiss My Axe. She hadn’t been thrilled when Puck dragged her to yoga at the crack of dawn, but the flirting afterwards had led to her discovering what could only be her new favourite hang out in the city. She had wanted to race there straight after that abysmal class, but Aloy was bound by responsibilities named work and classes. With her cousins so close by, with them practically seeing each other every day, it wasn’t like she could blow off the important things just to go throw some sharp objects around. She had hoped Booker would be excited enough to join her, but he was apparently busy. Puck said she’d find the time, but since Puck was the responsible one that could mean it would be a month or two before there was a space in her calendar. Aloy really didn’t know how she did it. She lived for work and then had time with them, and never looked like she’d rather be in Maui. Aloy never bothered asking Andromeda, already away that sharp objects and weapons were not something the dark haired one of the bunch, would ever be interested in. If anything, dragging Rome there would only result in nightmares and Aloy had seen plenty of them since Rome had moved in with her family all those years ago.
Since her family were obviously going to be no good to her, she turned to her phone. She had been given Sailor’s number during their little morning flirt, but she had never really expected to call him on it. Maybe if she was lonely one night, but that hadn’t happened yet. He would, however, be perfect for a date night with axes. He did after all tell her about it so she could only assume he had some kind of interest in it. When he agreed to go with, Aloy had pretty much bullied him into letting her know when. She offered to book them a space, to pay for it, and even threw in a line about nachos and cheap soda afterwards. She was dying to go try this place out, but knew if she went alone then she would take it far more seriously than it was meant to be. She thrived on social situations and being alone was not her best look. Aloy already had her MMA gym and classes for when she wanted to beat the crap out of a bad day, she was certain she didn’t need sharp blades adding to that.
She went to Kiss My Axe straight from her last class of at the day at NYU. Her bag was heavy with books and her laptop, but Aloy didn’t care. She wanted to throw things and maybe flirt a little more with the gorgeous man. She approached the main desk and gave in the booking details, adding that she was early and waiting on her date. The man there told her to take a seat at one of their little tables and give him a shout when her partner showed up. He looked the part for an axe throwing place and Aloy momentarily wondered if she ought to have put a bit more effort in than an old pair of jeans, scuffed up sneakers and a fading Pepsi t-shirt. Not that she could do anything about it; the only other clothing she had with her was her gym gear shoved in the bottom of her bag from the morning attempt at working out. Ultimately, Aloy had opted for the extra hour in her comfy bed. She sent Sailor a text to let him know she was early, but not to rush - she could do some assigned reading while she waited. However, Aloy had no intention of doing that. She’d rather watch other people throw axes instead.
